Futures have been up and down all morning and have settled in the S&P low 770s area. Nothing really determinative unless and until 780 area gets tested

I'm a 54 year old suit living in Washington, DC. Been doing this for about 8 years, and like to focus almost exclusively on technical analysis, chart reading, and riding the trends (buy high, sell higher!). Currently almost all of my interest is in the financial ETFs, for which I use the S&P 500 for trading cues. When things settle down again I will go back into regular stocks. I have a lot of friends that I've been trying to teach the market over the years, and this blog is mainly for them as I provide running market commentary based upon the story that the market tells via the charts - if only one knows where to look and how to listen. I imagine that I'm talking to my sister when I write, so I tend to keep things simple and maybe over-explain too much. Can't help it - that's the way I am. Deal with it. :-)
